pop-up bars, restos and shops have become de rigueur of the culturally adventurous, so it’s no surprise that the world’s first ever pop-up golf course, golf mountain, is now a possibility.
located in adelboden, switzerland, this course will be open for one month only starting in september. the golf course, sitting 1,964 metres up, offers breathtaking views of the village of adelboden, making it one of the highest in europe. and just like any regular green, golf mountain has a full 18 holes ranging from par 3 to par 5, but is said to provide even the best golfers some serious challenges. make like mickelson and endure obstacles like streams and rocky outcrops as well as swirling mountain winds and other extreme weather conditions. but it also has some necessary luxuries as well—check out the driving range or head to the cozy clubhouse that boasts a bar, resto and pro shop. and since you’re there, why not make a trip out of it and stay at the nearby cambrian hotel that has been recently renovated to offer top-of-the line amenities (an outdoor heated pool with water jets, an indoor lap pool, and a sauna). an added bonus? the cambrian offers a sweet package deal that allows you to enjoy golf mountain in style including B&B accommodations, two green fees, transfers to the course, and so much more.

I read this book and I fell in love. The One Hundred: A Guide to the Pieces Every Stylish Woman Must Own by Nina Garcia. There are a few things I did not agree with but overall very inspiring. This book makes you look into your own closet to make sure you have all of the essentials. I will share tidbits of the book here and there, but I highly suggest getting your own copy (especially for all the extras and great illustrations done by Ruben Toledo).
This week’s tidbit: Converse
All the cool kids are wearing them. It’s the most effortless way to be casually dressed. Wear them with dresses, jeans, skirts, whatever you like. Wear low tops, high tops, over the knee and multi colored and patterned. There is a style for everyone. I personally wore neon orange and pink plaid, high tops to my senior prom. They were the talk of the evening and they even got their own picture in the yearbook!
Converse started in the early 1900s as a basketball shoe, made famous by Chuck Taylor, then evolved into an everyday shoe in the 50s by the likes of Elvis and James Dean.
Fact: over 60% of Americans claim to have owned at least one pair in their life time. My dad has owned at least 15-20. He prefers high tops, as do I. My finance prefers low tops and my mother prefers Minnetonkas.
